The Whiskey Bar

Introducing the Celtic House Whiskey Bar, a fresh addition to the Celtic House Irish Pub and Restaurant legacy. Bringing a traditional Irish whiskey bar experience to the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area, our new venture boasts an extended whiskey selection and an inviting private event space.

About

Celtic House Whiskey Bar warmly invites the community of Arlington, VA, and beyond to experience our meticulously crafted Irish Whiskey Bar, enveloped in unparalleled hospitality. Grateful for the warm reception we've received since the establishment of The Celtic House Irish Pub and Restaurant in 2014—located just overhead—we've decided to expand our offerings by introducing a more extensive selection of Irish whiskeys, bourbons, and scotches within a cozier setting, doubling as a private event space.

The owners of Celtic House Whiskey Bar have cultivated a cherished network of patrons and friends while working at various Irish restaurants and bars in the Washington DC area since the late eighties. This inspiration led them to create an environment that reflects the enduring friendships they've built over nearly forty years in the area.

To bring their vision to life, they enlisted the expertise of a carpenter from County Clare, Ireland, who boasts decades of experience constructing Irish bars both in Ireland and across the US and Europe. This collaboration resulted in intricate woodwork complemented by carefully chosen stained glass focal pieces, showcasing the rich red oak bar designed to provide the warmth they aim to deliver in every experience at Celtic House Whiskey Bar.

Celtic House Whiskey Bar stands proudly, holding dear the relationships forged over the years and continuously striving to prioritize our customers. Our establishment is not just a place to visit but a space where people will return, leaving with smiles and memories that will endure.

The Owners

Business partners since 2014, Mikey and Rolando have embarked on a new journey of Celtic House Whiskey Bar. Together they've built not just a bar, but a welcoming space where friendships, new memories and whiskey come together.

Michael

CO-OWNER

Mikey Mc, as he’s known to many hails from the village of Clarecastle in County Clare, Ireland. Starting his career in the hospitality industry in his mid-teens, his passion led him to work in several of Ireland's renowned establishments. After completing additional training in Switzerland, Mikey immigrated to the US in the late eighties. Over the years, he managed The Dubliner in Washington, DC, and worked at various Irish Bars in the greater Washington, DC area before co-founding The Celtic House Irish Bar and Restaurant in 2014 with his business partner, Rolando.

Mikey's unwavering commitment to detail and hospitality is always front and center. Fostering a loyal staff that he considers an extension of family with the friendships he builds and continuous support he provides to make each one of them feel like they can grow within the business and have a friend to call on for many years to come. Beyond his role in the hospitality realm, Mikey’s passions extend to the County Clare hurling team, both past and present, and on occasion can lead a strong “debate” on all elements surrounding the detail of games won and lost.

Rolando

CO-OWNER

Rolando, a native of El Salvador, immigrated to the US in the nineties. With a reputation for leading kitchens in Irish pubs throughout the DMV area and in New York, his extensive experience in opening and scaling kitchens, along with a distinct menu flair, earns commendation from many Irish bar owners. Leveraging his knowledge of French cooking, Rolando's crafted menus bring families together, captivate foodies, and present dinner specials that add a distinct upscale touch to beloved meat and fish dishes.

A family man first, Rolando also passionately follows his country's soccer team and beyond, cherishing the days when both interests align. Cheers to enjoying Rolando's creations at Celtic House Whiskey Bar for many years to come.
